John Rey Malto is a Filipino talent manager, production supervisor, songwriter, and television researcher active in film, television, and music production. He has worked across multiple areas of the entertainment industry, including artist development, television production, and songwriting.
Malto began his career in 2018 as a model and beauty queen handler. That same year, he was appointed Director of the Philippines’ International Modeling Competition, a role recognized in an ABS-CBN article that highlighted his work as a talent supplier and his commitment to the safety and professional growth of the artists he manages.
In 2023, he contributed to the production of the film The Mariana’s Web. This was followed by his involvement in the 2024 film Spring in Prague. That same year, he wrote the song Pangako Mo, performed by Joice Espinoza. The song earned over 1.2 million online views, won a Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards 2024 in California, and received recognition at the World Music and Independent Film Festival 2024 in Virginia, marking a significant milestone in his songwriting career.
Throughout 2024, Malto served as Guest Coordinator for Bilyonaryo News Channel, overseeing programs such as Basis Points, Follow the Money, World Newsfeed, and Industry Beacon. He also worked as a researcher for the television program Rated Korina, where he contributed to content development and supported production segments, including features involving entertainment executive Johnny Manahan (Mr. M).

The Event Director for the concert was Jag Cruz.
In 2023, he was also honored as Asia's Most Outstanding Talent Manager of the Year at the 1st MMTV Asia's Golden Eagle Achievement Awards.
During this time, John Rey worked as a freelance researcher for Rated Korina (formerly Rated K), a Philippine news magazine show broadcast by ABS-CBN, TV5, and Kapamilya Channel, hosted by Korina Sanchez. One of his notable contributions as researcher was the life story of Mr. Johnny Manahan, also known as Mr. M, The Star Maker of ABS-CBN Star Magic.
