Ivan Botello graduated from CUJAE University in Havana, majoring in
Data Processing in 2002. He met Miguel Coyula in high school and has
collaborated and acted in some of his early shorts. He was the lead in
he short Válvula de Luz. His enigmatic, distant off-screen persona inspired
Coyula's novel, 'Mar Rojo, Mal Azul'.
