Uriah Gabriel Neabar, professionally known as SONORÉ, is an American singer-songwriter. Born in Milford, Connecticut, and raised in West Haven, Connecticut, he demonstrated a natural affinity for creative expression from a young age. Influenced by the diversity of genres in his home and early exposure to various musical styles, he began writing original songs at the age of ten and ventured into music production at twelve.
In 2020, SONORÉ started posting his music on YouTube, and in July 2024, he independently released his first single, "Forgiveness." Summer of 2024 marked a pivotal breakthrough in his artistic journey when he adopted the stage name SONORÉ-a name derived from the Latin word for "the essence of sound"-which encapsulates his dedication to crafting pure and impactful musical experiences. His early work, which initially emerged from the EDM sphere, has since matured into a blend of a refined pop and stripped-back acoustic sound that weaves together introspective lyrical narratives and sophisticated production techniques. Drawing inspiration from influential albums, his music explores themes of hope, healing, and the complexities of the human condition, while also addressing social issues like anti-discrimination and mental health awareness.
Parallel to his musical endeavors, Neabar has developed a career in independent film and visual media. He embarked on his journey in film and acting at the age of twelve and, since 2020, has been actively involved in independent professional film and commercial environments. His contributions span acting, award-winning film production, composing soundtracks for indie film projects, cinematography, directing, and script writing. Additionally, he has honed technical skills in intermediate color grading, film and video editing, amateur visual effects editing, compositing, post-production sound editing, and lighting supervision-competencies further validated by his attainment of four Tier 2 Industry Recognized Credentials in Multimedia.
