Sahadeb Das was born in Birbhum, West Bengal, India. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology from the University of Kalyani and later pursued postgraduate studies in Sound Design and Filmmaking at Roopkala Kendro, Kolkata.
After completing several film school projects, including Table No. 3, Das made his directorial debut with the short film Khoabjomin - A Mouse and a Man, which he directed, wrote, and sound-designed himself. The film marked a significant transition from academic practice to independent filmmaking and reflected his strong interest in sound-driven narrative cinema.
As a filmmaker and sound designer, Sahadeb Das has collaborated with several notable figures in Indian independent and experimental cinema, including Q, Partha Barman, Bipuljit Basu and Ashish Avikunthak. His work continues to explore the relationship between sound, realism, and human experience within contemporary storytelling.
