His uncle Piero was a projectionist, like Alfredo in Cinema Paradiso (1988): He used
to spend entire days with him watching new releases and therefore feels
he was born with the love of cinema. When he worked in London as a Chef
at the "Sale e Pepe" restaurant in Knightsbridge, Dustin Hoffman came into the
kitchen to greet the staff, and suddenly from a small town in Italy,
actors became real and tangible. His culinary career took him to Los
Angeles where his dream to make a movie crystallized.
