Kathleen "Kat" Hearons was born to Richard and Nancy Hearons in a northern suburb of Los Angeles County, California. After graduating from Highland High School (Palmdale, California), she earned an A.A. in letters, arts and sciences from Antelope Valley College (Lancaster, California); a B.A. in political science from California State University, Northridge; and an M.A. in international affairs from American University (Washington, D.C.). She also earned college credits in Livorno and Florence, Italy, and Prague, Czech Republic, for her studies in political science and economics.
Kat grew up in Palmdale, California, and she spent all of her formative years there. She studied in Livorno (Tuscany), Italy, for one summer before starting college immediately after high school, and she lived abroad (Italy and the Czech Republic) later in her academic career. For her master's degree and early post-graduate employment, she lived in Washington, D.C.
She learned her first foreign language (German) at age 10 and spent her teens and early 20s learning as many languages as she could, largely self-taught but certified in many. As of 2022, she is conversational in Spanish, French and Italian; has intermediate proficiency in German, Russian and Arabic; and is fully literate in Hebrew, Greek and Farsi/Persian. She also has experience in teaching several of these languages, as well as American Sign Language.
Kat has been a creative writer all her life, and she hopes to someday pursue a career in screenwriting. She works primarily in business development and corporate communications, and she does voice over acting for commercials and training modules.
She was discovered by director Jim Towns, who asked for her help as a dialect coach for "The Beast Inside," knowing her skills in foreign languages and her desire to get involved in movie production. Towns also enlisted her help for voice over work for his podcast, and the two anticipate a future of further collaboration.
