Stan Nowak was born in the small blue collar city of Buffalo, New York.
He was drawn to the arts at a very young age and eventually decided to
pursue it as a career path. He attended college at Syracuse University
and enrolled in the Industrial Design Department. There he received his
first glimpse into the world of Special Effects and Make-up Effects. He
started a small Special FX company on the Syracuse campus, titled
Monolith FX, which helped the film students with there cinematic
projects. Upon graduating, he moved to Seattle, Washington and worked
as a product designer/fine artist for two years. He later went on to
attend Cinema Make-up School in Los Angeles and fulfill his dream of
being in the movies. Stan has worked as a professional make-up artist
for the last two years, focusing mainly on special make-up effects. He
has worked with various celebrities including the musical groups, Korn
and Mana. His make- up skills also led him to the Colony Theater
Company in Burbank, where he has completed 3 successful productions.
Stan's most recent Make-up effects venture is the film Edge of Nowhere (2003), due out
in 2003. He keeps busy working professionally and teaching make-up
seminars/classes to theaters and other make-up artists around the
world.
