Magdalena Demetz is a 24-year-old girl from Northern Italy who has been playing the piano since the age of 7. She studied organ, classical piano, and jazz piano at the conservatories of Bolzano and Trento.
She is currently studying music for film, theatre and media in Zhdk (Zuerich).
Passionate about film music, Magdalena is the main and only composer of the film "A penny weights more than a soul" (in production) with director Tobias Demetz.
She scored several other movies, for instance Tochterzelle (Selin Basil, 2023) and The Race (Lea Zuppiger, Lena Metzer, Dario Boger, Frederic Berger 2023).
Magdalena has participated in several composition competitions such as the "Ibla Grand Prize" competition in Ragusa, and the "Pan de music" competition, where she won the audience prize and a special prize.
She further won the role of one of the 3 ladies in a film adaptation of Mozart's "Magic Flute" by director and producer Rainer Uhl (2018).
She attended several film music and orchestration masterclass provided by Miriam Cutler, Conrad Pope, Carl Rydlund, Patrick Schmitz.
In addition, she has participated in piano masterclasses such as Berry Harris' in Bologna and the Berklee summer program in Perugia.
Her main interests are composition, film music, pop music, game music and piano technique.
