Jay Dennis
  • Date of birth: 2003
  • Profession: Writer
Born in Las Vegas, NV as Jayce Bertrand, Dennis found a love for writing at a young age, enjoying telling stories to his friends and making up scenarios to reenact on the playground. He took this love of storytelling to new heights in sixth grade, where he first started creatively writing. The next year, he submitted to the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition for the first time, and won a Silver Key for his short novel, "The Lone Child". Over the next five years, Dennis won almost a dozen more awards, including his first Gold Key for his short story, "Mr. Senton's Homecoming". His experience with Scholastic culminated during his senior year, as he was honored with two Best in Show Awards, one for his One Act Play, "Something in the Way", and another for his critical essay, "Euler's Identity: The Pinnacle of Human Existentialism". Both projects were nominated for an American Voice Award, and the essay went on to win this award, as well as a gold medal, at the national competition.

After graduating high school, Dennis is now currently attending Chapman University, where he is studying Writing for Film and TV. He is continuing to submit to any film or writing festivals he can find.
