Carmen was born of Norwegian heritage on March 25, 1985 in Edmonton,
Alberta, Canada to Michelle and Carl Rasmusen. The second of four
children, Carmen began playing piano at age six. She spent most of her
childhood performing: singing, dancing (includes cheerleading, tap, ballet,
and hip-hop dance). She went to Hollywood in early 2003 and became one
of the Top Twelve Finalists (out of 50,000 competitors) of "American Idol."
She is aspiring to attend Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah and
study to be a dermatologist.
