Talemwa is a Screenwriter, Film Director and Film Producer from Uganda. He has written and directed multiple short films including the award-winning "Engaito" which was nominated and honored at the Kalasha International Tv & Film Awards in Nairobi, Kenya, the Uganda Film Festival and won at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in Lagos, Nigeria. He is an alumnus of the Multichoice Talent Factory Academy in Nairobi, Kenya, and the New York Film Academy where he has attended and completed the Short Form Storytelling Workshops. Talemwa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial and Fine Arts from Makerere University Kampala (MUK) and has received honors for the Proficiency in film from Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya. Beyond his individual projects, Talemwa has actively served as a mentor for the Young Filmmakers Fellowship Program in Uganda, where he has shared his expertise and passion for storytelling. He has also Produced "Jimbi", a fantastical short film with Docubox Kenya addressing social issues focused on Sexual & Reproductive Health Rights and Justice. Talemwa's main objective is to explore different film genres to challenge and break African stereotypes.
