Spike Luu (born Lucas o Jesus Ferreira) is a Brazilian director, screenwriter, editor, producer and actor whose work is rooted in social realism, Black Brazilian identity and political resistance through cinema. Born in São Mateus, Espírito Santo, Brazil, he began his artistic journey influenced by peripheral cultural movements, ancestral memory and collective storytelling.

Founder of the independent production company Cinemas Possíveis, Spike Luu develops fiction films, documentaries and video performances that investigate themes such as ancestry, territory, environmental justice and social transformation. His short film "Quantos Mais?" received national recognition, including a nomination for the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro, establishing him as an emerging voice in contemporary Brazilian cinema. Other works, such as the documentary short "Constâncias", explore poetry as an inherited cultural practice and a tool of resistance.

Spike Luu is currently developing his debut feature film "Before Its Over" (Antes Que Acabe), a sociedade-environmental thriller inspired by quilombola communities and ancestral struggles for land preservation. The project has participated in international development labs and co-production markets, including programs linked to Sundance.

Spike Luu defines cinema as a political and poetic act - a way to reclaim narratives, preserve memory and imagine possible futures.
