While he was studying at Saint Benoit French High School, he dropped out due to his passion for music. He started music with the oud and lute lessons he received from his father. He took notes and style lessons first from his father, then from Udi Kirkor and Karnik Garmiyan Efendi, and piano lessons in western music from Büyük Sinanyan. At the age of 12, he entered the world of music by participating in fasils with his oud at the Eftalipos Gazinosu in Taksim. Within a few years he became a well-known oud player.
