Andre King was born in Chicago to a multi ethnic family in 1964.
Growing up he decided at an early age to work in some aspect of the
motion picture business. His professional career began in acting while
he was still in high school gaining his SAG card in 1985. After
graduating from Northern Illinois University , Andre went to work for
the advertising firm of Tracy-Locke in Atlanta, Georgia where he served
as an account executive for clients such as Orion and Universal
Pictures. He later worked for Buena Vista Distribution and then began
his career in film production.
After working on film and television production crews for a number of
years and writing several screenplays, Andre served as associate
producer on the feature film "Fate" for the Alpha Film Group. In late
2003 he left Alllied-Alpha, a partnership between Alpha and Canadian
film distributor Allied Entertainment and returned to his native
Chicago. He is in development on two features including "The
Fragrance of Her Hair", a drama tentatively slated for production in
the near future where he serves as writer and executive producer. He has also been
writing several other screenplays including "Liberators", "The
Ex-Patriot" and "Thunderhead". He is also still active working on film
crews in different production capacities.
In 2006, Andre served as one of the organizers for the 42nd Chicago
International Film Festival.
