Johannes Pietsch, known by his stage name JJ, is an Austrian singer-songwriter and opera performer. He spent part of his childhood in Dubai before moving back to Austria in 2016. Growing up in a musically rich environment, he developed a passion for both opera and contemporary music.
JJ gained national recognition in 2021 as a finalist on ORF's "Starmania," Austria's popular talent show. His performances showcased his impressive vocal abilities, earning him praise from both the judges and the audience. He performs at the Vienna State Opera, participating in renowned productions like "Die Zauberflöte" and "Von der Liebe Tod".
In January 2025, JJ was announced as Austria's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with his song "Wasted Love." His unique countertenor voice, which allows him to perform across various genres, has captivated audiences in both the classical and contemporary music scenes. JJ also studied at the Music and Art Private University of Vienna, training under Univ.-Prof. Kammersängerin Linda Watson, further honing his vocal technique and stage presence.
