Skif Bazzaev
  • Date of birth: 1981
  • Profession: Actor
Skif Bazzaev is a Russian actor of Ossetian origin, sound producer, and hand-to-hand combat instructor. He was born and raised in the family of the famous People's Artist of Ossetia and public figure Andrey Bazzaev. Since childhood, he has been interested in martial arts, achieving significant success in hand-to-hand combat, full-contact karate and kickboxing. He was also the champion of his university in arm wrestling and kettlebell lifting. Skif graduated from the Russian State Hydrometeorological University in St. Petersburg in 2004, receiving a degree in meteorological engineering.

Inspired by the films of Bruce Lee, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan, Skif dreamed of action cinema since his youth. His first experience at Lenfilm as a stunt actor convinced him that he had chosen the right path. Having worked his way up from extras to bit parts, he began regularly appearing in action films, where he demonstrated his hand-to-hand combat and extreme driving skills.

His interest in electronic music, which he used to listen to while training, grew into a professional hobby. The first experiments with sound began in 2000, but official releases only came out in 2018. The unique style, which combines Western electronic music with Ossetian folk, quickly attracted attention: His tracks have been featured on national radio stations, TV programmes and advertisements, including the BBC in the UK. Later, Skif began collaborating with vocalists from the USA and Great Britain. Together with David Temiraev, he founded the project 2IMPRO. Their joint track received airplay on Russian radio stations and the BBC. He releases music under the pseudonyms Skif Bazzaty and 2IMPRO, working in various musical genres. He also trains young sound producers, arranges and masters music for other artists.
