Tito Mazzucchi was born in Rome, Italy. Both his parents were also born in Rome. His father, Andrea Mazzucchi, played a significant role in the early development of the Internet in Italy and Croatia, and his mother is a pianist and database developer. Tito moved with his parents to the United States when he was four years old. They briefly lived in Brooklyn in New York City before moving to Philadelphia, PA.
Tito began learning filmmaking at a young age, making short stop-motion and drawn animations. He went on to study video and photography in high school where he also had the opportunity to make various award-winning short films. In 2017 Tito traveled to Bosnia and Herzegovina to collaborate with other filmmakers and MFF school as a co-author and director of The Grey Area (2017), which was screened at the Mediteran Film Festival. In 2018 Tito was also in Croatia where he helped with the production of Liburnija (2019), which was showcased as an official selection for the international films category at the 2019 Rough Cut Film Festival.
Tito studied Philosophy at Allegheny College where he completed a multi-year project about journalism, epistemology, and social justice in the refugee community of Lesbos, Greece. He collaborated with ReFOCUS Media Labs (NGO) to develop an instructional program to teach refugees photography and videography and was involved as a teaching artist during the production of multiple films and documentaries which have been circulating in European film festivals.
