Mads Sterri Nilsen is a Norwegian film director and writer from Kopervik, Karmøy. He holds a Master’s degree in Film Production from NTNU and studied Cinematic Arts at California State University, Monterey Bay.
His debut short documentary My Friend Artemis screened at national and international film festivals and received the Best Student Film award at the Minimalen Short Film Festival. His short fiction film When the Sun Fades premiered at the Norwegian Short Film Festival in Grimstad in 2025.
In 2021, Nilsen founded Scenario Filmproduksjon, where he develops fiction and documentary projects. Alongside his directing work, he has contributed to youth film initiatives connected to the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund.
