Glenn Dawes has been working in the film & TV industry for over the
past 25 years in different technical positions. Glenn Dawes studied
Television Broadcasting I & II, Stage and Theatrical Lighting, Sound
for Stage Productions & Film Studies Major (Carleton University 1989 to
1994), but never stopped his training.
He was trained at the International Film and Television Workshop in
Rockport, Maine in the United States, in 16 & 35 mm Camera Operating,
Feature Film Lighting, Tiffin Filters workshop and Electronic
Cinematography.
At the Summer Institute of Film and Television, he followed courses in
Producing Documentaries, Adaptation Novel to Screenplay, Getting the
Most From Actors, Writing the Low-Budget Feature Film, Directing &
Producing the Low-Budget Feature Film.
At the Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, in spring
2000, he followed classes in Inter-Active Multi-Media production,
Television Broadcasting, Broadcast Journalism, Basic Photography,
Library Audio-Visual and Single Camera Video Production.
Glenn Dawes worked most recently as Sound & Lighting Technician on
Battle of the Bands July 1st. 2004 for the Production, The Glue Pot Pub
in Ottawa. He was also First Assistant Director on Meeting Agnus, for
JumpPoint Entertainment, a twelve minutes digital video short.
He was also Director of Photography/Operator in 1996 on a two episode
series of a short documentary filmed in Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya for
over a three month period, entitled Christmas in Rwanda 7 min.
