Nelson Omar Faquirá (known as Omar Faquirá) is a Film & TV Producer and Entrepreneur.
He grew up in Inhambane, but quickly changed cities after graduated in High School. He then went to Maputo City to attend college and graduated in Administration. Since 2018 he started working in small productions, when he and his team founded Afrocinemakers a small but successful production company (also incubator). Since then, they won several awards from their short films.
In 2022 he graduated in Film and Television Production at University of Zambia.
His works as Producer include award-winning short films such as Ontogenesis (2020), Sinedoque do Silencio (2021), Deprivida, feature films like A Quiet Intruder (2022), Strings (2023) and TV Series like Kuga Munu (2023) other works.
He owns some small business in Tech, Agriculture, Real Estate and Consulting. He holds other certificates in Project Management, Business IT Management and Film Production. Since 2021, he serves as Director of Production and Projects at Afrocinemakers, Ltd.
