Armin Etemadi is an independent short filmmaker from Iran. His films often explore women's issues and the crises they face in Iranian society. His debut professional short film, Fading Dream (2024), was selected for the 43rd Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival and the 40th Tehran International Short Film Festival (both Oscar-qualifying festivals), where it also was nominated for the Audience Award. He has since participated in and received awards from over 25 film festivals, both in Iran and internationally.
Beyond filmmaking, Armin Etemadi is also a critic and researcher in feminist art. He is a regular contributor to "Zanan-e Emrooz" (Women Today), the only Iranian magazine dedicated exclusively to women's issues. He has written an analytical essay on the works of Andrea Luka Zimmerman, which was featured in the booklet accompanying the Blu-ray release of her film collection. His research on feminist art has also been published in various Iranian journals.
