Alejandro Mateo was born in Buenos Aires in 1960. He is National Master of Painting. He started his studies of action, theatre direction, scenography and wardrobe with Guillermo de la Torre, María de los Angeles Favale, Agustín Alezzo, Norberto Díaz, between others. Since 1985 he has performed as a teacher in the branch of plastic arts and theatre. He directs "Ojo al bagre", "Trayecto", con Adriana Barenstein y Claudio Nadie, "Lara, ayer soñé con muerte", con Alejandro Tantanian y Walter Rosenzwit, "Balcón francés", "Fin de fiesta", con Alejandro Tantanian, "Locas por Manuel", "Mujeres porteñas", "Partir de la Odisea", "Blanco sobre blanco", con Ita Scaramuzza y Alfredo Rosenbaum, y "Nadar en tierra". In 1982 and 1983 he takes part in the theatre movement "Teatro abierto".
