Misty was born in Honolulu,
Hawaii. Her father, Galen Raether, was in the U.S. Navy and retired
after serving 22 years. Her mother, Estrella Sevilla, left her family
and friends in the Philippines after marrying her father. Misty is the
eldest of two sisters. Her younger sister, Mindy, is living in Florida
and is interested in the entertainment industry as well. Her sister
loves to sing and is currently taking piano and more vocal lessons.
Misty's father was born in a small town in Wisconsin called Black River
Falls. Her mother was born and raised in the Philippines and passed on
some of her life-lessons while Misty was growing up. When Misty turned
two years old, her father received orders to Moffett Field and they
moved to Mountain View, CA (next to Palo Alto and San Jose, and a
half-hour drive to San Francisco). Misty was in her school's choir and
on the school's performance team, the Pantherette's - dancing and
singing to all genres of music. She loved performing in front of an
audience, but that was cut short. Her father's military career took
them to Misawa, Japan. She continued to sing there, but it didn't feel
the same, so she discontinued singing and joined the volleyball team,
since she couldn't join the football team.
After leaving Japan, they returned to Mountain View, where Misty
graduated high school (1992). After graduating high school, her family
moved to San Antonio, TX. She stayed in Mountain View and worked for
her uncle's company (CoSystems, Inc.). Misty joined a local Tae Kwon Do
studio in Downtown Mountain View and fell in love with the art. In
1994, she was just beginning to look into her dream of becoming an
actress when she was struck by a vehicle and simultaneously discovered
her mother had filed for divorce from her father. She moved to Texas to
be with her father and sister and began working at the Air Force
Personnel Center, where she met her husband, Kurtis. They moved to
Izmir, Turkey, for two years and returned stateside, where they are
currently living on Andrews AFB, MD. Misty works for the Pentagon
Renovation Team and is a survivor of the terrorist attacks of September
11th. She works on the construction site and she verifies credentials
to stat the process of getting employees badged to work on the site.
Her trailer, which is cemented into the ground) came off the ground and
