Nissan Mahmud is an adventurous Bangladeshi filmmaker, born in the city of Narayanganj who has a passion for filmmaking and storytelling. He is an up-and-coming director, editor, and screenplay writer.
Early Life and Education
Born and grew up in Narayanganj, where he studied at IET Government High School. Then completed high school at Narayanganj College. After that, he moved to Dhaka City and studied BBA in Finance at the Northern University of Bangladesh. He proceeded to finish his MBA in Marketing at the same university.
Career and Early Works
He began his career in advertising as an Assistant Director in 2012. He worked at Applebox Films, Runout Films, and Film logic as an Assistant Director. He was mentored by well-known directors like Piplu R Khan, Adnan Al Rajeev & Rahat Rahman. Now he has founded his own production house, Hat Trick Films.
His first short film "Half-Baked" was selected in different international film festivals including CMS, International Film Festival Lucknow. He has directed documentaries, OVC & TVC for several well-known Brands including Tiktok, Prothom Alo, Banglalink, Nestle Bangladesh, and Munchies. His first debuted film "Happy Birthday" now streaming on the OTT platform Chorki. In his career in video editing, he edited more than 200 TV commercials, Fiction, documentaries, OVC & musicals.
