Kit Taylor is a composer, pianist and producer based in Portland, OR, USA. Kit writes in a variety of genres, but his music is most often compared to the songs of Disney; and composers, songwriters and producers like Vangelis, Trent Reznor, David Foster, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Gino Vannelli, Max Martin, and Dr. Luke.
Kit recently completed his first film score, an indie sci-fi film called "Katia", due out in 2020.
He has won or been nominated for eight songwriting awards, with the latest pair of awards coming in 2019 for the instrumental composition "Winter in the Village", and the pop/R&B dance track "Persephone".
Beginning in 2003, Kit was a founding member of the R&B/soul band Intervision. Throughout the 2000's the group would tour with platinum acts Lifehouse and the Neville Brothers, sell out multiple theaters, be featured on the front page of the Oregonian, and release three critically-acclaimed records; "Inside" (2005), "Shades of Neptune" (2007", and "Intervision" (2010).
Kit works out of his studio in SW Portland, OR, and has worked with or studied under the likes of Bob Stark (engineer; Everclear, Esperanza Spalding), Jennifer Batten (guitar, Michael Jackson), David Torn (guitar, songwriter; Madonna), Marv Ross (platinum-certified songwriter of "Harden My Heart"), Craig Carothers (songwriter, Trisha Yearwood), Judy Stakee (former VP of Warner-Chappell Publishing), Jimmie Herrod (singer, Pink Martini), and many others.
