Shawn Lai, born in Taichung, Taiwan, is a director, writer, and producer. He graduated from New York Film Academy MFA in Filmmaking. Shawn is passionate about using visual language to tell fairy tale stories which can inspire both children and adults. In his stories, he loves to write the characters who struggle over what seems unchangeable in society and turn them into allegoric fantasy films. His known short films include The World I See (2020) and Outside the Window (2021).
