Jonathan English is a British filmmaker who has written, directed, and produced both independent and international projects. After studying illustration, he trained at Bournemouth Film and Television School and began his career producing short films before moving into features. He made his directorial debut with Minotaur (2006), but it was Ironclad - Bis zum letzten Krieger (2011) that brought him widespread recognition for its gritty depiction of medieval warfare. He later directed its sequel, Ironclad 2: Bis aufs Blut (2014), and has continued to develop a range of film and stage projects in Europe and the United States. Splitting his time between Los Angeles and Europe, English remains active as a director, writer, and producer.
