Arlen Lester Card was born in Redwood City, California on 11 April
1961, the youngest of six children. He grew up in Santa Clara,
California, Mesa, Arizona, and Orem, Utah. He graduated from Brigham
Young University with degrees in music and law, and is an accomplished
professional performer and studio musician on many instruments as well
as vocals (though his first love was the saxophone). From 1980 to 1982
he served in Chile as a missionary for the LDS Church. He lives with
his wife Jennifer and their five children in Orem, where he continues
to compose and perform, along with practicing law.
