Jeremy Burnham was an English actor-writer. Born in Yorkshire and educated at Stowe School, he went on to train at the Old Vic Theatre School in London. He appeared in many West End plays, including 'Hippo Dancing' by Robert Morley, E. M Forser's 'A Passage to India' and the anonymously published 'The Rehearsal'. He was the only person to have both appeared in and written for the cult TV series Mit Schirm, Charme und Melone (1961). He also wrote for many other British TV series, including When the Boat Comes In (1976), Der Aufpasser (1979) and Inspector Morse (1987). He is perhaps best known as the co-author of 'Children of the Stones', another cult TV series in the nineteen-seventies. A sequel, 'Return to the Stones' was published in 2013. Jeremy Burnham died on 31 December 2020.
