David Barrera is an award-winning veteran film and television actor with over 100 credits spanning more than three decades of work in premium network, cable, and streaming television. He is widely recognized for his grounded authority and emotional intelligence in roles that anchor complex narratives.

His extensive television work includes memorable appearances on Castle, Dirty John, The Big Bang Theory, CSI: Miami, The Closer, NCIS, Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, Heroes, The West Wing, NYPD Blue, and 24, for which he received an ALMA Award nomination. David has also appeared in recurring roles on critically acclaimed series such as Bosch, What/If opposite Renée Zellweger, Chance opposite Hugh Laurie, HBO’s Emmy-nominated Generation Kill, and Netflix’s record-breaking Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

On the feature side, David’s credits include Evan Almighty for Universal Pictures alongside Steve Carell, as well as Infinity directed by Matthew Broderick, The United States of Leland starring Don Cheadle, and No Way Back opposite Russell Crowe.

A classically trained actor, David earned his B.F.A. from Southern Methodist University and his M.F.A. from the Professional Actor Training Program at the University of California, San Diego, where he was awarded the Princess Grace Award in Acting.
