Born in Birmingham Alabama. The son of Jonathan C. Putman (a steel
worker) and Nancy Alexander Putman (a first grade teacher). Took his
mother's last name in 1994. Graduated from New York University in 2000,
summa cum laude. Worked with Lt. Governor George McMillan in mid 1990s.
Worked with fashion photographer Steven Meisel in the late 1990s.
Worked with Academy Award nominee director Gus van Sant 1997 to
present. Worked with Imagine Entertainment, Universal Films, Kime
films, Triune films and Seven Films collective.
