The Whip (2024)
Plot: Sadie Baxter is a devoted full-time carer for her sister, Emily, who lives with a disability. Their lives are thrown into turmoil by the UK government's impending "Independence Credit" welfare reforms, which threaten to strip away their essential financial support. After enduring a humiliating and dehumanizing benefits assessment, Sadie decides that traditional protests aren't enough. She hatches an audacious plan to break into the Houses of Parliament to steal a "little black book" belonging to the ruthless Chief Whip, Damian Wilson. This book contains secrets and leverage used to keep politicians in line. To pull off the heist, she assembles an unlikely crew: her friend Abi, a disillusioned MP with a guilty conscience, and a young computer whizz. Their mission is to leak the secrets, collapse the government, and halt the devastating reforms before they can be signed into law.
