Reveille (2023)
Plot: Set in late 1943 along the "Winter Line" in central Italy, the film follows a squad of American GIs who engage in a skirmish with German soldiers. When an intense artillery bombardment begins, the Americans are forced to take shelter in a cave alongside several wounded German prisoners. Adhering to the rules of the Geneva Convention, the soldiers must protect their enemies while trapped in the claustrophobic darkness. As the hours turn into days, language barriers and national allegiances begin to blur, forcing the men to confront their shared humanity and grapple with the impossible moral choices that arise when the lines between "friend" and "foe" disappear.
