Middletown (2019)
Plot: On the eve of their 20th high school reunion, three estranged friends—now wrestling with the disappointments of adulthood—return to their small hometown. The catalyst for their return is the sudden suicide of the fourth member of their once-inseparable quartet. As they gather to grieve, old tensions resurface, and long-buried secrets from their teenage years begin to leak into the present. The film is an emotional character study about the weight of shared history, the pain of lost potential, and the difficult process of reconciling who you were with who you have become.
