Plot: Inspired by harrowing true events, the film follows Armando Guevara, a seemingly charming and helpful neighbor who hides a monstrous double life. Traumatized by a lifetime of abuse, Armando decides to "create" the perfect family he never had by kidnapping three young women—Julia, Jessica, and Erin. He keeps them imprisoned in his basement for years, deluding himself into believing they are a happy, willing family unit. The story intensifies when Armando's brother, Daniel, is brought into the fold and must grapple with the moral horror of his brother's actions. Facing brutal punishments, the women must find a way to manipulate their captors and maintain hope to orchestrate a desperate escape.
