Aegri Somnia (2008)
Plot: Edgar is a simple man living a life of quiet desperation, trapped in a soul-crushing job and a hostile marriage. His world completely shatters when his overbearing wife commits suicide in their bathtub. This tragedy triggers a rapid psychological descent into a waking nightmare. As Edgar struggles with isolation and paranoia, he begins to suffer from vivid, grotesque hallucinations of a faceless city and malevolent entities that seem to be hunting him. The film uses a surreal, experimental style—alternating between stark black-and-white and bursts of crimson color—to mirror Edgar's crumbling sanity as the boundaries between his internal fears and external reality disappear entirely.
